Opioid & Heroin Addiction Treatment

Residential Opiate (incl Heroin) Treatment in Palm Springs

If you’re looking for help with an opiate or heroin problem, you’re in the right place. Ascension provides a continuum of care from getting clean to aftercare for people addicted to opiates and other drugs. Opioids are one of the most addicting drugs legally available today. Many of our clients came to us addicted to medications that they were prescribed by a doctor. Some opiate dependent people abuse heroin when they cannot get the narcotic medication they are used to. The end result is the same; a painful, overwhelming addiction that spirals out of control.

Opioid addiction is one of the biggest challenges in society today. The good news is that if you’re trying to get clean from opiates, you’re not alone.

Many other struggling individuals have taken the journey you’re about to take. You can get clean from opiates once and for all, and find a path to serenity and fulfillment.

Detoxing Before Opiate Addiction Treatment

Detox is usually the first step in the process of off of opioid drugs. In detox, you will be made as comfortable as possible by an experienced, supportive team of professionals.

One of the hardest things about ceasing opiate use is the withdrawal effects you’ll face in the first few days of getting stopping use. Withdrawal can be scary. People often experience aches and pains or symptoms such as sweating or diarrhea. These types of side effects can be minimized through the use of medications. Our clinical team will also monitor you for any other medical issues. You’ll be safe, comfortable, and in the company of a caring, supportive staff who wants to help you through the worst of it.

Many people who arrive at detox may have been using drugs to self-medicate a co-occurring mental health disorder such as depression or anxiety. We screen for these types of disorders in detox, and continue to monitor your mental health and wellness throughout your stay.

Once you’ve completed detox, you can move on to our residential opiate treatment center, where you can begin a journey of healing and recovery.

A Holistic Approach to Treatment

Our holistic treatment center focuses on healing the body, mind and spirit. While you’re in treatment, you’ll focus on learning new responses to life’s stressors. You’ll also process the past, which means addressing underlying issues that could be contributing to a potential relapse or otherwise sabotaging your recovery.

Our clients often come to us with more than one disorder.  They may have a substance abuse disorder alongside a co-occurring disorder such as anxiety, depression or PTSD. When this is the case, we will make sure that your mental health issues are addressed as part of your treatment plan.

A substance addiction can be very hard on your relationships as well as other aspects of your life. You may have lost jobs or friends because of your behavior. You may have even gotten into legal trouble. Addiction can hurt everyone involved in your life, and you may feel a lot of guilt and shame.

In therapy, you’ll work through your pain and grief and find a way to look forward to life again. You’ll learn how to heal. One-on-one therapy, group therapy and creative, expressive activities can will help you understand your addiction and other issues in a safe environment. We’ll help you learn more about keeping your body healthy as well. Often, your therapy will include family or friends. We also refer them to outside resources to help with their own healing, as well.
Once you’ve finished your time at our residential program, Ascension will help provide you with an aftercare plan. This may include group therapy, individual therapy or other activities to help you stay strong in your recovery.
