Alcohol & Drug Rehab for Women

A Great Time for Sobriety

Thousands of women make the decision every year to enter treatment in order to stop drinking or using drugs,  and many more probably would if it wasn’t so humbling and difficult to ask for and accept help. Many women are used to being caretakers themselves, or being the “strong one,” and that can make it difficult to reach out for help when they need it most.

Addiction is progressive and can distort reality for the sufferer, causing her to live in denial or make accepting help overwhelming,  but facilitating a drastic life change like transitioning from active drug use to living in recovery is much easier with the help of professionals.  That is where we come in.  The team at Ascension will create a personalized treatment program for you and  work with  you address the underlying issues that contribute to the substance abuse.

Detoxification

If you are struggling with a chemical dependency, then a residential women’s treatment program is recommended but should not begin until you have completed detox. A brief detoxification period is recommended in most cases in order to stabilize the woman and prepare her for the therapeutic processes that she will take part in during residential treatment. Many drugs that are commonly abused have withdrawal symptoms. Heroin, opiates, alcohol, and prescription drugs often cause painful (and sometimes dangerous) withdrawal symptoms.

Detoxification provides a supervised, safe environment to withdraw from the toxins and drugs as comfortably as possible. When needed, medication can be prescribed to help the recovering person get throught the detox with as little discomfort as possible.

Residential Treatment at Ascension

Once detox has occurred, you can enter our residential holistic residential treatment program, where you will have the time and tools necessary to begin healing. Ascension provides a safe, compassionate environment where women can work on themselves, and move towards the serenity that they deserve to find in recovery.

The women will participate in:

A Holistic Approach to Treatment

Our holistic approach takes each individual’s medical, family, and treatment history into account when we are designing the schedule of treatment processes.  We want to make sure that we are able to help the woman recover in mind, body, and spirit.

Our treatment program and caring professionals offer a safe, inclusive, and intimate environment to help women start the path to forgiving themselves and healing their lives.

Addressing Dual Diagnoses and Underlying Issues

Out holistic approach to treatment recognizes that in order to treat the disease, it’s important to treat the body, mind and spirit.  Many women who enter treatment are coping with co-existing mental health disorders such as PTSD, depression or anxiety. Many women use drugs and alcohol to treat the symptoms of a disorder like these.

When a woman enters our treatment center, we screen for depression, trauma, and other mood or behavioral disorders. These disorders are treated alongside the substance abuse disorder in order to help every woman have the best possible chance for fulfillment.

Many women who become addicted to drugs have experienced sexual trauma or domestic abuse. Because of this, it’s important to provide our clients with a compassionate, caring environment with a professional staff that has experience working with these sensitive issues. Our team has experience working with women who have experienced trauma or suffer from PTSD.

Once treatment has finished, we offer aftercare programs to help women stay focused on recovery and continue their journey, and continue to employ new tools in their lives.
